Author David House will make his fifth straight appearance at the Oregon Authors Table at the Oregon State Fair.

The fair will open Friday, Sept. 27, and run through Labor Day, Sept. 6. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. except Friday and Saturday nights when the fair is open until 11 p.m.

The Oregon Authors Table is located inside the Americraft Center at the west end of the fairgrounds.

"I hope I have enough copies of Survivor Planet," House said. "If it weren’t for the economy, I would have sold out the first printing by now. There are only about 40 left heading into this year’s fair. I’m getting into the lower-numbered signed copies of the first printing of The Key to Space, too."

Heading into the fair, 116 signed and numbered copies of the first printing of The Key to Space still remain. These hardcover novels are signed and numbered 1 through 250 and are being sold in reverse order.

"When I get closer to No. 1, I’ll need to print a paperback edition of The Key to Space and raise the price on the low-numbered first editions," House said. "This year’s state fair might be the last chance for people to buy the first edition of The Key to Space at cover price."
